The role you'll contribute:

The Corporate Responsibility Coordinator works collaboratively with the Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer (RCRO) and Home & Retail Care team leaders and members to ensure that the Corporate Responsibility Monitoring and Auditing Plan is completed in a timely manner, works with the RCRO to investigate compliance issues, works with the AHS PE Revenue Integrity team regarding compliance with coding audit policies and procedures, assists in drafting education and training materials, assists with vendor screening and Business Associate Agreement matters, serves as an additional resource to Home & Retail Care employees seeking compliance support, provides compliance presentations at New Hire Orientation, provides compliance presentations at Home & Retail Care team meetings and programs and assists in the development of further compliance program development. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Works as necessary with RCRO to provide input on the implementation and on-going review of policies and procedures, as well as assistance with implementation of these policies and procedures within the physician practices to ensure compliance with AHS Corporate policies.

• Works with RCRO in receiving, responding to, tracking, and documenting incidents reported by patients, employees, business associates, and others regarding Home & Retail Care compliance and privacy practices. The Compliance Consultant will also conduct thorough and timely investigations of complaints related to compliance and assess the viability and severity of the complaints. The Corporate Responsibility Consultant assists the RCRO, legal counsel, Human Resources department, Risk Management department, and other appropriate individuals and offices to implement corrective action to mitigate effects of noncompliant behavior and activities and documents such actions.

• Assists in performing ongoing risk assessments of policies, procedures, training programs, etc.; analyzes whether there are any gaps; and helps to determine timeframes and resources necessary to address any gaps.

• Assists the RCRO, legal counsel, management, key departments and committees to ensure the organization maintains appropriate forms, information notices and materials demonstrating compliance with requirements as prescribed by state and federal laws.

• Assists in conducting training and education programs for corporate responsibility to all employees, volunteers, medical and professional staff, board members, and other appropriate parties. Assists in training others to conduct physician practice and departmental workforce training in corporate responsibility policies. Assists in communication efforts to ensure all members of workforce are informed when policies and procedures are changed or updated. Helps to facilitate and promote activities to foster information deployment and corporate responsibility awareness within Home & Retail Care and its related entities. Assists in maintaining documentation that all required training has occurred in a timely manner.

• Assists in evaluating adherence to Home & Retail Care corporate responsibility policies and procedures by workforce members. Assists in conducting ongoing corporate responsibility monitoring activities and operational assessment functions.

• In coordination with the RCRO, monitors employees' access to patient information, based on the AdventHealth Monitoring and Auditing Plan and as required by law.

• In coordination with the RCRO, works cooperatively with other applicable units within the organization to oversee the rights of patients to inspect, amend and restrict access to protected health information as appropriate and as required by federal and state laws.

• Assists in coordinating the identification of business associates that receive PHI and reviews existing contracts as needed with these entities for compliance with HIPAA. As needed, reviews and evaluates proposed business contracts and other documents to identify and correct potential conflicts between privacy policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

• Cooperates with the Department of Health and Human Services, the Office for Civil Rights, other legal entities, and organization officers in any corporate responsibility or privacy reviews or investigations.

• Regularly attends and participates in meetings of Home & Retail Care committees and professional organizations regarding compliance and privacy issues.

• Assists in the completion, review, and analysis of results of audits and monitoring activities, and prepares reports detailing the findings. Assists Home & Retail Care departments in development of corrective action plans resulting from auditing and monitoring activities.

• Participates in corporate responsibility performance improvement projects.

• Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development. Attends educational offerings to remain current in area of expertise.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

• High School Diploma

• Minimum of three years documented work experience in healthcare compliance or a related field

• Experience managing health care program projects

• Experience working with audits and related investigations

• Experience delivering presentations
