What is the position?

  • Define, prioritize, and complete benefits verification and authorizations for each referral to determine applicable payer and escalate to the Business Office Manager if further financial review is needed
  • Collaborate with Clinical reviewer as it relates to a referral's clinical needs to ensure authorizations are obtained at the resident's level of care.
  • Provide management of all documentation related to the referral to maintain accurate records for quality assurance purposes.
  • Work cooperatively with all team members in the organization as necessary to positively impact the Patient Served goals
  • Support and foster relationships with Communities, Regional Teams and maintain other third-party relationships.


Who are we seeking?
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and at least 2 years of experience in processing of referrals by identifying patients' needs.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a business-related field or experience in a healthcare setting related to Re fe rrals, benefit verification, authorization and Admission processes in the skilled nursing industry.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced role and should have a strong background in assessment of medical records, focused, detail oriented, and able to identify risks.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems (WORD, Excel, EHR/CRM systems, etc.).
  • Must possess effective communication skills both written and oral.
  • Will report to the Director of Central Intake and Managed Care Contracting
