HDR Engineering is looking for a Central Region Industrial Business Development and Industrial Terminals Lead to join our growing industrial practice.

As Central Region Industrial Business Development and Industrial Terminals Lead, you would work with Regional & Area Operations and Sector / Practice Leadership to establish a sustainable and resilient Industrial client base.

  • Strategic Growth of the Central Region by identifying market sector opportunities and implementing plans to capture additional opportunities and markets.
  • Coordinate with Central Regional Resources Business Group Director, Area Business Group Managers, Industrial Business Development Director, Practice Leaders and Business Class Leadership to develop a team that is coordinated and focused on driving the market sector with key clients and client opportunities at a regional level.
  • Develop and collaborate with other Resources Business Group BD Leadership to provide Business Development training to Seller/Doers in the Resources Business Group.
  • Develop and collaborate on a Resources Business Group approach for Client Development Plans, inclusive of a system to track/monitor progress of these plans.
  • Serve as Client Manager for select key clients.
  • Possesses & maintain knowledge of client needs, plans, current and trending business environment, and their assessment of HDR in order to anticipate, track and capture contract assignments.
  • Assess business development best practices across the Sector and coordinate with business development leadership in other sectors to apply consistent best practices across the Resources Business Group.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic teaming partners (inclusive of General Contractors) who are key to the success of the Sector.
  • Identify key talent in the Industrial market and assist with recruitment and retention.
  • Leverage existing HDR resources to provide full cross sector and multi business class collaboration for targeted clients.
  • Participate as part of the Industrial Sector Leadership Management Team. Assist in developing market strategies, strategic initiatives, and business development.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Business, Marketing or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive experience in a role focused on understanding and solving client issues in the industrial terminals market.
  • History of successful leadership of major BD strategies, and understanding of the framework and tools used to understand our clients' needs and develop winning strategies, and marketing materials.
  • Proven track record of major client development, relationship building and operational results.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain clients in consulting and professional services industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be willing to travel to support various HDR and client offices.
  • Work cooperatively with diverse teams, regional, department, technical managers, marketing and project staff.
