Central Sterile Endoscope Processing Technician I

Schedule: 10:00am-6:30pm - Monday to Friday. Rotating Weekends.

Summary:

Under the guidance of the CSPS Clinical Operations Supervisor, the Central Sterile Endoscope Processing Technician I performs core Sterile Processing functions and develops skills necessary for independent work. Responsibilities include instrument and equipment decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, high-level disinfection, documentation, and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform instrument and equipment decontamination and cleaning.
  • Assemble and package instruments and equipment following guidelines.
  • Sterilize and perform high-level disinfection of instruments and equipment.
  • Document all processes and maintain work area cleanliness.
  • Manage inventory and accurately build case carts for surgical procedures.
  • Communicate with leadership regarding supply requests and schedule changes.
  • Maintain proficiency in computer programs and instrument tracking software.
  • Demonstrate multitasking ability and problem-solving skills.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience in a Sterile Processing Department preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks as required.


Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Excellent organization, operations, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and computer programs.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
