The role you'll contribute:

The Central Service Manager is responsible for directing, controlling and coordinating all activities within the Central Sterile Department. Directs and evaluates all personnel assigned according to Hospital nursing and unit philosophy and objectives. Serves as a resource person guiding staff in the development of their skills and capabilities. Complies with Hospital and Central Service Department policies/guidelines concerning conduct, dress code, and goals and objectives.

• Confers with members of the medical, surgical, and nursing staff to provide for the implementation of techniques to meet the needs of the patients.
• Ensures that safety standards are met and maintained to protect patients/employees and to provide for a safe environment.
• Investigates complaints and other irregularities pertaining to patient care in an attempt to prevent their recurrence.
• Ensures that current decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization techniques are employed in the processing and delivery of sterile supplies.
• Provides for and participates in the research of work studies, trends and comparison of productivity and work habits which will assist in providing adequately for staffing needs, population growth, and expansion of services within the facility and within the community.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Four (4) years' experience as a certified central supply or operating room technician
