Responsibilities
In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for providing basic care and transport services for patients under the direction of a registered nurse. As a member of the interdisciplinary health care team the CNA assists in the delivery of total patient care as set forth by the patients plan of care.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 6 months recent acute care experience as a hospital attendant.
Education
Graduate of an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant Program
Licensure
C.N.A. License-CT NA
Must have American Heart Association BLS certification-CT CPRBLS
Special Skills
Experience in care of the aged. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Basic knowledge of transport techniques. Complete annual safety training. Complete and maintain department specific training. Ability to read and speak English clearly and be understood. Demonstrated skill in EKG interpretation (85% score obtained on hospital test). Must have leadership ability and good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and speak English clearly and be understood.
