Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients - Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter - provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia's Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Certified Nurse Aides to work a schedule shift of 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, 11:00pm-7:30am and every other weekend.

Job Duties
  • Assists with meals and escorts residents to the dining hall.
  • Make rounds regularly, answer call lights promptly and respond courteously.
  • Complete all required paperwork/computerized documentation for charting assessments.
  • Provides each resident the necessary care in accordance with his/her plan of care and ADL record.
  • Monitors and observes residents' physical, mental, and emotional status, and reports changes to Charge Nurse.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL's).
  • Physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.
Additional Considerations
  • Experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.
