CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) - PART TIME

PHP/IOP/INNOVATIONS ACADEMY

This position is essential to aiding the PHP (Partial Hospital Program), IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) and Innovations Academy (Therapeutic Day School) Registered Nurse with providing clinical care as prescribed by the SBHS Nursing Department, standards of nursing practice, and internal and external regulatory bodies including CMS, The Joint Commission and ISBE.

The CNA provides direct care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Primary responsibilities include provision of safe and therapeutic programming and educational enviornments, assistance with completing all admission and discharge nursing related tasks, securing prior authorization for medication prescribed to PHP and IOP participants, and securing all medical/medication documentation for patients and students in collaboration with Innovations Academy leadership and the Registered Nurse. This role is responsible for supporting administration of patient and student care related to injuries and carious illnesses, assisting with toileting, when indicated, and ensuring the nurse's station is stocked with necessary supplies.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION : High School or equivalent required; Experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED : Knowledge of standards of nursing practice, competence with administration of vital signs/patient and student personal care, understanding of healthcare processes, basic computer skills competence, demonstrated organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills. Professional demeanor and appearance. Spanish language skills preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION : Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certificate REQUIRED.
