The Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove (WVHUG) is recruiting for multiple Nursing Assistant 2 (Certified Nursing Assistant) - Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions. WVHUG is a 24/7/365 skilled-nursing, long-term-care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled Wisconsin veterans and their spouses. Our facility is in Racine County, a short drive from Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and other key locations throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Come join our dedicated care team!

Position Summary
CNAs at WVHUG provide direct and indirect patient care, following standards set by the American Nurses Association; gerontological nursing practice; federal, state and Veterans Administration regulations; and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of this agency. Job duties include providing care per a written care plan to help meet the needs of WVHUG members, including care for members with dementia. CNAs work as an integral part of the health care team, under the direction of licensed nursing staff, with limited supervision by a Nursing Supervisor.

Salary Information
The starting pay for these Nursing Assistant 2 positions is $24.56 per hour. This job does not offer employee benefits.
Additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
This position is in pay schedule and range 06-11.
This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.
Job Details
These are flexible part-time positions with the option to pick up additional hours as desired with no required overtime. Shifts are available AM, PM, NOC, holidays and weekends. Candidate preferences gathered at time of interview.
LTE jobs are limited to 1,039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.
Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
Employees at this healthcare facility are required to report their COVID-19 vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information by their third day of employment.
Job duties require the ability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.
Qualifications
These jobs require certification or eligibility for certification as a Wisconsin Nurse Aide and eligibility to work in a federally certified nursing home as a CNA.
Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments. The definition of Wisconsin residency for LTE employment can be found here .
