Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Certified or eligible for certification in recreational therapy. Experience with traumatic brain injury populations is a plus.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Communication of program and treatment goals to individuals and groups through planned leisure activity assessment.

Designing and participating in community outings for patients. This requires the ability to ambulate and transfer patients, and a valid driver's license.

Working with an interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop rehabilitation treatment plans. Requires technical report writing skills, as well as communication and verbal skills.

Must be able to handle patients who may act out with a therapeutic manner. Additional training will be provided.

Drive hospital vans, with or without compensatory aids.

Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds.

Communicate with patients through speaking and listening, with or without compensatory aids.

Ability to communicate by telephone.
