Under the direction of the Director of Pastoral Care, the Chaplain will provide both individuals and groups spiritual and religious support including performance of
individual and family counseling, guidance and education to patients, their families and TMC Medical Center Market management and staff regarding worship
services, crisis counseling, spiritual, religious, emotional, cultural and relational issues as well as end of life issues. Also offer total patient care on an on-call,
emergent basis.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required in theology, divinity or religious studies at an institution accredited by the Association of
    Theological Schools or an accepted regional accrediting agency. Bachelor's degree and considerable parish ministry
    or chaplaincy experience may be considered in lieu of the Master's degree. Expected to be active in a local church or
    community of faith.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in pastoral ministry or hospital ministry or equivalent. Acute care healthcare
    setting experience strongly preferred.
  • Licensure in counseling such as LPC, LMFT, or LADC/CADC strongly preferred. CPE preferred.
  • Require advanced level of interpersonal skills in dealing with the emotions and spiritual issues associated with the
    highly stress-prone situations found in the hospital environment, especially those related to emergent situations (e.g.,
    ED, ICU, NICU, etc.) Strong ability to work with other healthcare professionals in a team approach to patient and family
    care. Thorough knowledge of the practice of spiritual care in a hospital environment, end-of-life issues and pastoral
    care to grieving persons including complicated situations of mourning involving trauma, pediatric and neonatal death
    and highly stressed families. Working knowledge of cultural and religious practices and sensitivity to the cultural and
    spiritual needs of patients and families. • Follows Just Culture
