Chargeback and Refund Specialist

Tyler Technologies is looking for a Chargeback and Refund Specialist to join our Courts & Justice Accounting team! A Chargeback and Refund Specialist is responsible for evaluating disputed credit card transactions and processing customer refunds. In this position, the chargeback and refund specialist's duties are to investigate disputes, look for documentation of a purchase, determine whether there was fraud, and validate the chargeback if appropriate. The chargeback and refund specialist will also work with merchants and card providers to ensure their record-keeping systems are adequate.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and corrects daily cleared lines for negative accepted chargeback amounts.
• Applies accurate error code and chargeback text notes to accounts as necessary.
• Audits end of month chargebacks and reviews chargebacks requested, accepted, and denied amounts are accurate.
• Creates chargeback credit and reconciliation reporting for end of month reviews.
• Track and resolves chargeback denials for monthly reporting.
• Serves as a member on the chargeback review committee to approve or deny restriction lift requests from facilities and clients monthly.
• Serves as a point of contact for reviewing chargebacks on accounts and assisting in proactive fraud prevention.
• Processes refunds through various software applications and merchant portals, while also updating internal forms for refunds.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and Microsft Office applications, particularly with Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with merchants, customers, the accounting department, and other co-workers within the organization.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills to keep all records related to a dispute in order.
• Ability to keep up with multiple ongoing projects.
• Well-developed analytical and decision-making skills to research credit and/or debit card disputes in order to make accurate and appropriate decisions based on the findings.

State-Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements
Salary will generally fall between $41,500 - $53,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
