The information Technology Division (ITD) is a key member of the DDS executive management team and provides enterprise applications and technology services that support the DDS business lines. ITD is committed to providing technical leadership, increased business alignment, talent, transparency, and accountability in support of all the DDS strategic technology and business objectives.

Under the administrative and technology direction of the Chief Technology Innovation and Integration Officer, the Information Technology Manager I assist with developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining planning & management initiatives. The role of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), Chief, Enterprise Applications Branch, is to provide the vision for enterprise applications development, leadership, and support for all shared ITD software development services, both legacy and emerging technologies. You will play a key role in the success of our software design and data integration strategy, which will directly impact critical business processes. You will be responsible for driving the overall enterprise software and architecture vision, implementation, and delivery that your team produces. You will need to use your software and technical integration knowledge and deep experience in delivering features using Agile methodologies. To succeed, you must balance priorities and collaborate with senior leaders while delivering solutions and supervising key performance indicators.

This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, work with tight timelines, and handle various tasks simultaneously while continuing a positive work culture. In addition, excellent oral communication and written documentation skills are essential for this role to promote ideas across the branches.

This position is eligible to participate in DDS' hybrid telework schedule. Participation in telework is subject to DDS' guidelines.

Working Conditions
  • Open-spaced partitioned offices
  • Prolonged periods on a personal computer up to 95% of the time.
  • May require 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support.
  • Occasional travel up to 10% for overnight or day trips to California and/or vendor locations.
  • This is currently a hybrid position. Must be onsite at least twice a week in Sacramento during regular working hours. (subject to change as per government policies)

Department Information
The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The DDS is located in a modern, sustainable and innovative office building at 1215 "O" Street, Sacramento, California. Some amenities of the building include:

Special Requirements
