Chief Human Resource Officer/VP reports to President & CEO. Direct and oversee Division-wide Human Resource functions to include Safety & Wellness, Human
Resources Business Consulting & Change Management, Employee Services &
Talent Acquisition, Labor Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Human
Performance & People Development and Compensation & Benefits. Oversee
Human Resource functions/processes to provide optimal internal/
external customer services; confer with Executive staff and advise Board of
necessary changes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan and direct the overall
Human Resources functions including Safety & Wellness, HR Business
Consulting & Change Management, Employee Services & Talent Acquisition,
Labor Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Human Performance & People
Development, and Compensation & Benefits.; ensure direct reports design,
implement and maintain effective employee systems. Oversee human resource
functions/processes to provide optimal internal/external customer
services; confer with executive staff and advise the Board of necessary changes.
Establish and monitor long to short term strategies for successful employee
relations; provide progressive leadership to ensure recruitment and retention of
quality employees. Review Division-wide disciplinary actions and/or EEOC
cases, as necessary, and take appropriate action involving complex decisions.
Provide companywide guidance in organizational, policy and employee matters,
responsible for union contract negotiations, compensation and benefit
administration and training of employees. Represent Human Resources on
various internal/external committees. Integrate communication among diverse
functional units within the organization to ensure consistency/efficiency within
the areas of responsibility. Review budgets, recommendations and detailed
studies; select best alternatives and follow up as necessary. Make formal
presentations within/outside the Division; meet with customers/employees to
resolve problems/complaints. Perform other duties as directed.
Professional accreditation as a Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR), Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Education or related Area is required. Master's degree preferred.
Must have eight years progressive management experience in one or more of
the recognized Human Resource functions. Must also have an occupationally
significant combination of: broad knowledge of federal and state laws applicable
to human resource functions; organizational ability to plan, formulate and
execute policies/programs; proven analytical abilities to solve complex problems;
excellent verbal/written communication skills to deal effectively with persons
throughout the organization; mathematical ability to prepare/ review financial/
statistical reports; ability to relate to people in a manner to win their confidence
and establish rapport; flexibility to adjust to changing conditions; high level of
integrity; and demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce.
Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job. Must
have a valid driver's license from state of residence. Works in the office under
good conditions. Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving standing
or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis;
and some dexterity in operating office equipment. Sensory (ADA) Requirements:
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and
speaking abilities.
