This position will be based on site in Greenville, SC.

Summary:

The Chief Engineer will lead engineering initiatives within the aluminum industry, focusing on optimizing production processes, managing engineering projects, and driving technological advancements. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of complex engineering projects and fostering a culture of safety and innovation.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Oversee and mentor the engineering team, ensuring effective project execution and adherence to operational excellence.
  • Process Optimization: Lead efforts to enhance aluminum production processes, focusing on efficiency, quality, and sustainability improvements.
  • Project Management: Direct complex engineering projects, including technology upgrades and new facility implementations, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Innovation: Implement cutting-edge technologies and best practices in aluminum manufacturing to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Collaboration: Partner with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement.

Key Competencies:
  • Extensive experience in the aluminum industry, with a proven track record in engineering leadership and project management.
  • Strong background in process optimization and technology integration specific to aluminum production.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage complex projects, and drive innovation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of articulating technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable in safety and environmental regulations relevant to aluminum manufacturing.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience, along with experience in the aluminum industry, with a strong history of engineering leadership and project management.
  • Proven expertise in process improvement and technology adoption within aluminum manufacturing.
