Position Overview: UCLA Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and clinical excellence at UCLA West Valley Medical Center. The CNO will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice, patient care, and operational efficiency, aligned with the American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Administration's Scope of Standards and our professional practice model. This role is central to our mission of delivering leading-edge patient care, education, and research while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $201,800 to $497,000.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Provide strategic leadership for nursing practice and patient care, collaborating with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that promote excellence in patient care and regulatory compliance.
- Clinical & Operational Oversight: Lead through subordinate managers and oversee critical programs that impact the health system, ensuring the highest standards of care and operational efficiency.
- Relationship Building: Foster collaborative relationships with physicians, staff, and the community. Represent nursing in strategic planning, quality initiatives, and community engagement.
- Innovation & Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, utilizing evidence-based practices, outcome measurement, and research to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and care delivery.
- Professional Development: Mentor future nurse leaders, promote professional accountability, and ensure the development of a qualified nursing workforce.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active RN License in the State of California.
- Certification: Nurse Executive Advanced - Board Certified preferred.
- Education: BSN and/or master's degree in nursing or a related field. Doctorate in Nursing or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Progressive nursing administration experience with at least 5 years in an academic medical center with high-level organizational responsibility.
