    Qualifications

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Provide administrative and clinical supervision over Nursing Services including effective utilization of the nursing process to provide quality patient care, establish Standards of Practice, and provide effective fiscal management. Provide administrative and clinical management for the Employee Health and Infection Control Nurse.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Training:

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

    Graduate or current enrollee of accredited Master's degree program in nursing, related health care field, or MBA.

    Experience:

    Minimum of five years experience in psychiatric, mental health, and/or rehabilitation nursing with a minimum of five years progressive supervisory/management experience in psychiatric, mental; health, and/or rehabilitation nursing.

    Licensure/Certification:
    • Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License
    • Current North Carolina Driver's License
    • Current CPR Certification

    Knowledge and Skills:
    • Management skills with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
    • Able to develop and implement policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of psychiatric, medical, and rehabilitative procedures.
    • Knowledge of applicable State and federal regulations and JCAHO standards.
    • Able to evaluate the performance of other staff members against the criteria in their job descriptions.
    • Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
    • Knowledge of milieu management.
    • Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
    • Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
    • Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures.
    • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
    • Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation
