Position description

The UCLA Department of Ophthalmology and Stein Eye Institute invite applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of associate or full professor to serve as chief of the retina division.

The selected candidate will also be recommended for appointment as The Ahmanson Chair in Ophthalmology, an administrative endowed chair in the Department of Ophthalmology.

We seek a clinician scientist with strong national or international reputation who is interested in significant medical and/or surgical activity, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, research, and publication in professional and scientific journals. The candidate is expected to oversee the administration of the Retina Division and be actively engaged in service to the University and to the profession. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

The posted UC salary scales ( https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html ) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment - please refer to Table 5-Scale 7. The base salary range for this position is $142,100 per year - $429,000 per year.
This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan ( https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf ), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation above the posted base salaries indicated above.
