Our client, a Billion-Dollar Real Estate Investment Management Firm/Family Office, is seeking a new Chief of Staff to support the President. The Chief of Staff to the President will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and strategic alignment of the firm. The core purpose of this role is to keep the President well informed and more efficient at carrying out his role within the organization. This position will involve high-level coordination, communication, writing, and project management skills. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree (required) and a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff or in a similar executive support role working within a private investment environment and/or with a strong background in real estate and a solid understanding of financial principals. College and/or Professional Experience in Athletics would be a huge plus! Ideal candidates will act as a thought partner to the President, be intellectually curious, manage executive communications, research, review and synthesize articles pertaining to politics, sports, media, real estate, and other topics, attend and prepare the President for meetings and conferences, etc. They should be exceptionally organized, great at multi-tasking, flexible, creative, possess a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, excellent communication, listening, writing, and interpersonal skill, and a proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. They should also possess strong Microsoft Office Suite skills and the ability to be proactive and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.   • Salary depends on experience (175-250k base range) plus discretionary bonus eligibility, 99% company-paid medical benefits, 401k (match will be implemented in December 2024), generous vacation policy, etc.
  • Hours are 9:00am-5:00/6:00pm, with flexibility. Hybrid work schedule (4 days in office / 1 day remote). Ability to travel to California once or twice a year.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage projects across various functions, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Review and prioritize all emails and correspondence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for executive communications, including drafting, reviewing, and distributing correspondence and emails.
  • Prepare for meetings by generating agendas and providing follow-up summaries.
  • Attend business meetings with the President, providing strategic insights and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare comprehensive Board packages, including strategic updates and work with controller on financial reports.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the stakeholder's financials and investment portfolio, particularly in real estate, women's sports, and the market.
  • Research, review, and synthesize articles on current events within certain investment lines, keeping the President current/up to date on all matters.
  • Write white papers on various topics.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication and collaboration, ensuring alignment with the President's vision and goals.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date hardcopy and electronic files.
  • Manage the Executive/Personal Assistant to the President.
  • Assist with light administrative work, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff or in a similar executive support role.
  • Experience working within a private investment environment. Familiarity with investment management.
  • Strong background in real estate, with a solid understanding of financial principles.
  • College and/or Professional Experience in Athletics preferred (not required).
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, listening, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to be proactive and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be flexible and creative with a strong work ethic.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
