Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for two full-time or part-time, board-eligible/board-certified, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the rank of Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor on the Clinical Track. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient psychiatric and psychological services including but not limited to, medication management, psychiatric evaluations, crisis intervention services, and individual, group, and family therapeutic intervention, consultation, and case staffing to clinic staff and telepsychiatry. Teaching responsibilities include the supervision of child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, triple board residents, clinical psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, and medical students rotating through the clinical facilities serviced by this position; teaching in the didactic series in child psychiatry, as well as presenting at child and adolescent psychiatry grand rounds. All faculty are expected to mentor both residents and students to participate in mentored research projects and other scholarly activities. Faculty are expected to be meaningfully involved in presentations and/or publications annually and fully participate in the missions of the department: clinical, teaching, and service.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be professionally competent and be board eligible/certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Candidate must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Louisiana and have a current state and federal narcotics number.
  • Candidates must be eligible for clinical privileges at Tulane University Hospital and other clinical sites under the appropriate staff category and must agree to abide by those privileges as outlined by the current bylaws of these institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in general and child and adolescent psychiatry.
