Job Title - Child Nutrition Program Worker

Supervised by/Reports to: Child Nutrition Program Manager

Supervises: NA

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Job Goals:
• To assist in providing a school food service program safely and efficiently to meet nutritional needs of students and staff while complying with local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Possess and maintain valid driver's license.
3. Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks.
5. Ability to make estimates of time and material needed for efficient project completion.
6. Ability to effectively perform simultaneous projects and initiatives while meeting multiple deadlines.
7. High level of personal initiative and ability to work without close supervision.
8. Strength, stamina, agility, dexterity, and acuity to perform job responsibilities safely and effectively.
9. Ability, agility, and stamina to engage in prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, turning, reaching, and repetitive lifting up to 30 pounds.
10. Ability and willingness to work after hours, weekends, or holidays if necessary.
11. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
12. Such alternative qualifications to those listed as the Superintendent may require.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
1. Perform work in the school food service facility in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
2. Prepare and serve food as assigned.
3. Perform custodial, dish room, and/or storeroom duties as assigned.
4. Maintain high standards of sanitation and work safety.
5. Operate and maintain food service equipment in a safe and skillful manner.
6. Maintain effective working relationships with manager and other employees.
7. Assume any position in the department as directed by the manager.
8. Direct and work with others as assigned by manager.
9. Communicate effectively with the public, staff members, students, parents, administrators and other contact persons using tact and good judgment.
10. Follow attendance, punctuality and proper dress rules.
11. Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
12. Model and maintain high ethical standards.
13. Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
14. Maintain expertise in assigned area to fulfill project goals and objectives.
15. Serve on school/system committees as required or appropriate.
16. Demonstrate support for the school system and its goals and priorities.
17. Assist in lifting and moving heavy objects as required.
18. Assist and organize food and dry goods as it is received in the lunchroom.
19. Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
20. Performs duties in a courteous and professional manner.
21. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
22. Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and/or opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.
23. Reports potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel.
24. Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner.
25. Follows written and verbal instructions.
26. Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
27. Engages in required orientations, trainings, safety instruction, and meetings as required for effective job performance and/or advancement.
28. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations.
29. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
30. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

* All Employees will be required to be Serv Safe Certified.

Terms of Employment: In accordance with the Board's salary schedule.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Enterprise City Board of Education Policy on classified personnel evaluation.
