We are currently looking for a Full Time Child Protective Services Worker to join our Child Protective Services Team team located at the Colony Building working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.

Summary:

The Child Protective Services Worker responds directly to reports of child abuse and/or neglect. The CPS worker will be an advocate for First American children and families. The CPS worker will collaborate with individuals, children and families dealing with issues related to or stemming from mental illness, substance abuse, family and domestic violence, physical and/or emotional neglect. The CPS worker supports the mission of the Chickasaw Nation, and; demonstrates core values in all work functions.

Responsibilities:
* Investigates reports of abuse/neglect of children to assess current or future risk to children by interviewing parties associated
* Supervises parent and child interactions during family visitation
* Conducts regular home visits to children placed in biological home, foster home, therapeutic foster care homes, group homes, inpatient facilities, youth shelters, etc.
* Acts as a liaison between the Chickasaw Nation, outside agencies and/or courts to provide safe, stable and nurturing homes for Chickasaw children and families
* Transports Chickasaw citizens and other First Americans to and from appointments, meetings, and activities as needed
* May engage in public speaking to schools, community organizations, employee groups, citizen meetings, events, etc.
* Provides testimony as a qualified expert witness in state courts; provides written and verbal reports directly to appropriate court of jurisdiction
* Provides referrals and linkage services to clients to ensure the victims of child abuse and neglect are connected to appropriate services recommended
* Maintains files, logs, and records
* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
* Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
- Shares responsibilities for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment
- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment
- Observes and addresses potential environmental hazards and risks
- Maintains and promotes professionalism
- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
- May provide break coverage for others as assigned
- May augment staff in other areas as needed based on staffing and needs ratio in regularly assigned unit

Education:

* Bachelors Degree in directly related field

Credentials:

* Pass general background check
* Standard Driver's License
* Must be over 21 years old
