Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Childcare Specialist will carry out all the responsibilities of a classroom teacher in addition to having some communication, advisory, clerical support and supervisory skills. This person will be responsible for the department in the absence of the Director. This person will be available to teaching staff for guidance and advice on a daily basis, and will serve as a communication link between staff, parents, and administration. To train and direct the efforts of other teachers and teacher's aides.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Any combination of training/experience that will allow the caregiver to perform the above requirements. CDA and at least eight years of paid experience is required. However, a Bachelors degree or Associates degree in Early Childhood or the equivalent is preferred. Must possess a clear working understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice of Early Childhood. General office experience, familiarity with computers and other office machines. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required for this position.
BLS certification required.
