The University of Virginia Department of Surgery, in collaboration with The Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking applications for a board-certified congenital heart surgeon with two or more years of experience. The individual in this position will be located in Norfolk, Virginia to support the pediatric cardiac surgery program at CHKD with on-going collaboration at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. Interested individuals must be an MD, board certified in cardiothoracic surgery, and board certified in congenital cardiac surgery, with experience in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Responsibilities include all aspects of clinical care for the pediatric cardiac surgical patient population including ECMO.

The Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters is a full-service, freestanding children's hospital and the heart of a comprehensive pediatric health system with more than 40 locations throughout coastal Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. CHKD offers care in more than 30 pediatric subspecialties, including cardiology and cardiac anesthesiology. Surgeons perform more than 13,000 procedures a year the hospital's pediatric surgical facilities. The hospital is home to a 25-bed PICU and 62-bed bed level IV NICU and operates an experienced neonatal emergency transport service.
