Job Description:
  • As applicable, works autonomously within their designated program.
  • Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
  • Fully comprehends and interprets including a variety of technical specifications, IPC & J-STD knowledge, terms, and documents.
  • Able to identify problems and issues in all situations resulting in collaborating with engineering in a viable solution.
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete complex assignments while determining and/or following methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.
  • Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications and work authorization documentation.
  • Must be flexible in supporting the program needs by being readily available to flex between processes as necessary.
  • Readily available to support other programs whenever there is a business need.
  • Consistently lead in team meetings with a positive attitude.
  • Must be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise, providing on the job training when necessary.
  • Expert using hand tools including but not limited to screw drivers, torque wrenches, soldering equipment, and epoxy dispensing tools.
  • Be able to work under a low power microscope.
  • Responsible for performing complex functions associated with all mechanical assembly operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate complex operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments


Essential Functions:
  • Soldering to IPC & J-STD Workmanship requirements
  • Applying epoxy via pneumatic or manual syringe
  • Understanding complex work instructions
  • Hand clean circuit card assemblies
  • Working with Engineers on development activities


Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • IPC-610 / J-STD-001 certification and soldering experience
