Job Title: Civil Engineering Associate
Location:Roanoke, VA
Hours:40-hour work week Monday-Friday with flexible scheduling options:

• Five 8-hour days
• Four 9-hour days and one 4-hour day
• Four 10-hour days

Job Designation:Hybrid (three days in office, two remote)
Travel:15% (includes site visits and team meetings, may involve overnight stays)

Position Summary:

• Provide civil engineering support for the Transmission Line Engineering department.
• Utilize PLS-CADD software to design and analyze transmission lines according to industry and company standards.
• Develop functional and detailed scoping documents for estimating purposes.
• Order materials for construction.
• Create construction drawing packages.
• Attend project and team meetings.
• Perform site visits as needed.
• Ensure proper document archiving at project closeout.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Competence in the use of PLS-CADD software (not required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide civil/structural engineering support for substation capital projects.
• Collaborate with project planners, sponsors, project leads, and various stakeholders to develop effective design approaches and solutions considering safety, cost, schedule, constructability, and operation and maintenance requirements.
• Support construction and professional field service personnel to resolve issues and concerns during the construction phase of projects.

Preferred Candidates:

• Local candidates are preferred.
• Candidates with 2 or more years of relatedengineering experience are also considered.
