System One is in search of a Civil Engineer, Design for a long-term contract assignment for our client onsite in Sequoyah, TN.

Nuclear industry experience is required.

The Civil Engineer, Design plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of civil engineering work for major or moderately scoped projects. The role involves conventional civil engineering practices, but may include complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and difficult coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of civil engineering work for major or moderately scoped projects
• Perform conventional civil engineering tasks, addressing complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and difficult coordination
• Apply broad knowledge of specialty area precedents and related practices
• Independently evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Develop new approaches to encountered problems
• Ensure competence as a fully trained engineer through sufficient professional experience
• Provide procurement and field engineering support, including walk-downs, modifications, maintenance, and testing

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an accredited curriculum
• Related continuing education
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (desirable)
• Membership in professional and technical societies (desirable)
• Demonstrated proficiency in civil engineering through completion of an engineering graduate progression plan or equivalent post-graduate education and experience
