Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity to learn from our senior staff and gain a wide range of engineering experience. Candidates will work with engineers and other technical resource staff to contribute to development of projects from conception to completed construction. Occasional field engineering may also be assigned. This position will support GEI's civil/water resources, structural, and geotechnical engineering practices, which provide services in a wide range of settings. Representative projects for the water resources aspect of the position include analysis of sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water distribution systems, wastewater treatment systems, transportation systems, and civil site design for industrial, commercial, and municipal sites.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Support work in the following engineering disciplines: Water Resources (Hydrology and Hydraulics), Transportation, and Civil Site Design
- Develop spreadsheets and databases
- Assist with hydraulic analysis, site design, and project mapping in GIS
- Assist with project drafting in AutoCAD
- Perform field work as needed to support projects, including, but not limited to, field observation and data collection, soil and water sample collection, drill rig observation, and support of other field investigations
- Work will be directed by various project managers
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Civil (or associated) Engineering, with coursework completed in hydrology, hydraulics, soils, and structures
- Experience in summer internship, or other professional position, strongly preferred
- Ability to perform field work in active construction sites year-round without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed
- A valid driver's license and willing to work in the field as required
