Description of Work
The Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Civil Rights Training Specialist. Under the direction of the Title IX Coordinator and Associate to the Chancellor, the Civil Rights Training Specialist provides training for the campus community and other stakeholders on Title IX and other topics relevant to the work of the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance. Responsibilities will include developing, conducting, coordinating, supervising and promoting a variety of projects and initiatives specific to equal opportunity, nondiscrimination and prevention of sexual misconduct, and related educational outreach efforts for UNL students and employees in compliance with policy, federal and state law. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a database of referral resources and community services. The Civil Rights Training Specialist serves as a member of Institutional Equity and Compliance team and participates in meetings as appropriate.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, social work or closely related field plus 3 years of related experience required; equivalent education/ experience considered. Working knowledge and understanding of cultural and social causes of sexual and other gender-based violence; deep understanding of cultural, ethnic, racial, religious, sexual, and gender diversity and the ability to lead programming sensitive to the needs of all student leaders/groups (e.g. LGBTQ+, intercultural, students of color, Greek life, and student athletes) . Demonstrated experience working with confidential and sensitive information. Ability to work as a team member to build stronger working relationships. Demonstrated experience developing and delivering programs for students, faculty and staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, ability to work under deadlines, prioritize workload.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree preferred. Four years' experience in college sexual misconduct, assault intervention, and/or advocacy. Work experience in an academic setting, ideally in counseling, social work, student affairs counseling, or related field. Familiarity with UNL -specific software programs, including PeopleSoft, Maxient. Previous experience in a higher education environment.
