The Associate Design Engineer will be responsible for structural analysis and design of steel structures (products) to be manufactured by the company, including transmission poles, substation dead-end structures, substation static poles, and substation equipment support structures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interpretation of customer specifications, design criteria and drawings.
Production of Product designs for quotation and project phases.
Application of industry codes and governance regarding design of Products
Coordination with drafting and detailing for the conversion of design information into drawings.
Communications with customers to gain clarifications and technical decisions where necessary.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, preferably with a PE certification.
* 5 or more years of relevant experience in steel design and manufacturing, preferably in the Electric Utility Steel Pole Industry.
* An understanding of steel fabrication, welding procedures, connection design, and quality assurance in regard to the Products
* A working competency using PLS Pole design software.
* A working competency using AutoCAD or other drafting softwares
* Organizational and time management skills to ensure project schedules are maintained.
