Job Duties
Ensures boat registration, boat titling, dealer licensing, salesperson licensing, and sportsman licensing activities within assigned unit are accomplished, and deliver the required products or services to the customers as accurately and timely as resources allow. Ensures these activities are accomplished within all state and agency procedures, with emphases on cash, check and credit card managing and inventory protection requirements. Serves as manager's backup when manager is unavailable.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated extensive knowledge of applicable boat laws, regulations, and policies. Ability to interpret and explain relevant law, policy, and procedures both orally and in writing to call-in, write-in and walk-in customers regarding boat registration and titling and dealer licensing. Excellent grasp of office practices, procedures and currently used office equipment; automated and manual filing systems; standard English grammar, punctuation, and usage; legal terminology associated with registration and titling; and basic bookkeeping principles. Demonstrated skill to operate and maintain automated office equipment and perform basic keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work in a high-volume environment; balance and reconcile cash drawers; perform basic arithmetical computations with accuracy; communicate effective both orally and in writing; and analyze complex documents to reach legal conclusions. Demonstrated supervisory skills.
Additional Considerations
High school diploma or equivalent with courses in office practices. Possess acceptable criminal background. Bring relevant experience to the position equivalent the experience normally gained as a Boating Services Technician, Representative and Representative Senior or gain this level of experience in the first year of employment.
