Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Clinical Assistant Professor/Audiologist provides clinical services to both pediatric and adult populations. The audiologist administers diagnostic tests and makes recommendations for the best rehabilitative services. Provides fitting and dispensing of hearing aids, complete audiological assessments and evaluations, activation, and follow-up of cochlear implants. Individual complete documentation in a timely fashion, maintains equipment, prepares related reports, and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies. They communicate with patients and families and provide counseling as needed. They have a commitment to staying up to date on the latest audiology-related research. Audiologists must provide clinical instruction to students and supervise students' engagement in clinical practicum. May provide service to the University and the community.

Qualifications

All applicants must have the Doctor of Audiology degree and must be eligible for an appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. Further, applicants must have the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-A) and a current license or eligibility for licensure from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology-excellent written and oral communication skills.
