JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Assistant Professor of Audiology will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in audiology and aural rehab. They will also assist by supervising graduate students at the Program's Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic (SLHC). As part of the SLP-MS Program, the Clinical Assistant Professor of Audiology will participate in the accreditation process, and will contribute to the service of the program, the department, the college, and the University. The SLP Graduate Program and its SLHC are located within the Family Medicine Unit at the University's Health Science Center.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
• Teaching aural rehabilitation in the graduate program.
• Maintain the audiology equipment.
• Teach "Introduction to Audiology" and "Introduction to Aural Rehabilitation" in the undergraduate program.
• Provide diagnostic and aural rehabilitation services at the SLHC.
• Supervise SLP graduate student clinicians during their audiology and aural rehabilitation practicum hours.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in academia and practice to promote a positive and inclusive academic learning environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Doctoral degree or Ph.D. in Audiology by July 2025.
• ASHA Certification in Audiology.
• Texas licensure in audiology, or eligibility for licensure.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Two to Three (2-3) years of clinical experience (Including Internship Experience).
• Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses or teaching as a graduate assistant.
