The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a clinical assistant professor to begin August 2024. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching, social justice, and service, especially community service. AUM's BSW Program recently received initial accreditation with CSWE and is one of the fastest-growing majors on our campus. Our program, grounded in a liberal arts perspective, educates social workers to be ethical and competent practitioners who intervene and advocate for social, environmental, and economic justice across all system levels (individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities) utilizing a generalist perspective within a person-in-environment context. The program promotes a commitment to professional ethics and values, critical thinking, professionalism, lifelong learning, evidence-based practice, strengths-based perspective, justice, and service. The program is committed to culturally-responsive practice, social change, and the advancement of individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities, and society in order to create a more equitable society locally, nationally, and globally.
Duties for this appointment include teaching core and area of specialization undergraduate Social Work courses (4/4 course load), a productive community-involvement agenda, advising students, and adding to the service mission of the campus.
