The School of Nursing at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) seeks a full time, 12-month faculty member as an assistant clinical professor, non-tenure track. The School of Nursing offers the BSN and DNP degrees in nursing and embraces the shared governance model as well as Boyer's Model of scholarship.

Position: Assistant Clinical Professor

Effective Date: July 1, 2024

This position will be a 12-month position, not on the tenure track. The person must be doctorally prepared in Nursing or a related field or currently in a doctoral program with a completion date of one year from time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach, advise, and chair doctoral projects in the Doctor of Nursing Practice: Nurse Anesthesia Lifespan concentration in the SON graduate program. If in a doctoral program, serve as a committee member until the terminal degree is earned.
  • Engage in scholarship activities.
  • Teach didactic content in assigned nurse anesthesia course.
  • Participate in service to the School of Nursing, the University, and the nursing profession.
  • Assist in monitoring and supporting learner success and collaborate in the process of curriculum development and revision as needed.


Qualifications

  • Doctoral preparation in Nursing or related field required. If in a doctoral program, degree conferral must be no later than one year from time of employment.
  • Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse required
  • Preparation and unencumbered licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
  • A minimum of two years' experience as a practicing CRNA.
  • Experience teaching in an academic environment using both in class and online methodologies is strongly preferred. Experience in simulation is desired.
  • Experience teaching and practicing peripheral regional anesthesia with NBCRNA specialty certification in Non-Surgical Pain Management strongly preferred.
