Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Gastroenterology, seeks Clinical Associates at 100% effort for a renewable two-year term. The appointees will have strong pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition skills, possess excellent communication skills, have prior experience working within multidisciplinary care models, and provide compassionate care to families. Prior experience in skillful collaboration with primary care providers and other pediatric subspecialists is anticipated. The appointees will be involved with students, trainees, and staff members. Direct patient care responsibilities include managing patients with general gastroenterology and complex medical needs. Limited off-hours and occasional weekend coverage are expected. Primary placement is anticipated to be in Chicago, Chicagoland suburbs, Northwest Indiana, and other locations as needed at Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance sites. Teaching of medical students and/or residents is expected. The Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance is committed to providing superior, compassionate healthcare to all children. In addition to teaching medical students, residents and fellows, our faculty conducts cutting-edge translational and clinical research. Compensation is dependent on qualifications.

The Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance is a partnership between Comer Children’s Hospital, Advocate Children’s Hospital, and NorthShore University Health System Pediatrics. The Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance’s Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition service line is among the nation’s top Children’s Gastroenterology programs in the country.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and State of Indiana, 3) be Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
