Position Summary



Members of MemorialCare’s Healthcare Informatics job family use interdisciplinary knowledge, integrating computer, information, clinical, and decision sciences, toward the design, development, adoption, and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services. Through computer technology, Informatics team members effectively manage data, information, and knowledge, including data storage, retrieval, transformation, and process improvement, to optimize use for problem solving and decision making. They assess current data and information practices, structure, and technology, determine the information-based needs of health care providers and patients, develop solutions using technology, and evaluate the impact of those interventions. The Informatics team uses evidence-based clinical knowledge to help ensure support of clinical objectives and best practice.

Under general supervision, Clinical Informatics Analyst are responsible for participating in planning, development, implementation, training, and support of the clinical informatics systems. They work closely with senior informatics on implementing, supporting, configuring, and evaluating end user needs related to Inpatient, Ambulatory, and/or Outpatient clinical systems. They help to increase end-user’s efficient utilization of core systems such as Epic, MemorialCare’s electronic health record (EHR) or the analytics portfolio to enhance their workflows, documentation, and reporting outputs across the enterprise. Therefore, they are well versed in their knowledge of the EHR and play a pivotal role in training and supporting overall implementation as well as long-term maintenance and optimization activities.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  1. Act as a liaison to clinical committees to educate and support existing technological tools and functionalities
  2. Participate actively in testing and validation of departmental systems
  3. Combine knowledge of patient care, informatics concepts, and change management to effectively address the information and knowledge needs of the community
  4. Provide excellent customer service while troubleshooting issues and or re-educating the end-users
  5. Support best practice workflows and advocate for regulatory, quality, compliance and patient safety initiatives
  6. Participate in downtime both planned and unplanned support initiatives
  7. Collaborate with operations to create and/or maintain reporting needs for end-users
  8. Attain a cross-functional knowledge of the EHR system to effectively provide advanced navigation of the system
  9. Be at work and be on time

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements



Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 year progressive clinical, Information Systems experience preferred
  • Clinical Informatics experience preferred
  • Epic application experience required
  • Experience with hospital information systems preferred
  • Proven experience understanding cross functional clinical workflows, maintained knowledge of clinical applications implemented, and an understanding of how the functionality and patient care practices across the health care settings can be integrated.
  • Confirmed experience in the ability to work on several complex issues at the same time in an organized manner
  • Past success working individually, in team situations, as well as facilitating projects while meeting aggressive deadlines successfully
  • Demonstrated use of excellent organizational, communication skills, leadership skills, and interpersonal relations to achieve established goals
  • Proven ability to collect, analyze, and present data at various audience levels
  • Exhibited knowledge, compassion and professionalism to manage stressful situations in a manner that is conducive to finding resolution
  • Experienced planning and organizing day-to-day activities, effectively managing more than one task, and meeting established deadlines
  • Experienced in supporting users in maintaining changed processes and participating in post implementation change evaluation.
  • Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite Office Products preferred


Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Licensed healthcare professional
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific/limited EMR applications or analytics software with "Certification" and/or "Proficiency" status pending as is appropriate to specific vendors such as Epic
