Position Summary
The Department of Biotechnical and Clinical Laboratory Sciences ( BCLS ) at the University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking outstanding applicants for a full-time (12-month) Clinical Instructor position. The BCLS is expanding opportunities for students to develop hands-on laboratory skills and gain practical experience in on-campus, local & national internships and research placements that will lead to employment or advanced training in the STEM and healthcare fields. Successful applicants will complement existing strengths in the department.

The candidates should have knowledge of or experience teaching lab courses. The Clinical Instructor will have various laboratory-related responsibilities, including, but not limited to, teaching lab courses, organizing and maintaining laboratory equipment for teaching labs, preparing lab environments, and facilitating student participation in learning activities with faculty.

The Department of Biotechnical and Clinical Laboratory Sciences is one of the academic units in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. There are well-established research programs and excellent facilities available within the Department and School. The Department offers a BS in Medical Laboratory Science, a BS in Biotechnology, and an MS in Biotechnology.

Minimum Qualifications
• Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
• Must have ASCP / AMT certification or NYS license as a Clinical Lab Technologist
• Experience teaching at the college level.
• Experience operating standard lab equipment.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment.
• Knowledge of teaching laboratory materials and basic mathematical calculations.
• Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
• Understanding of electronic and computerized equipment in laboratories.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary Range $55,00 - $70,000
Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
