Job Summary
Technologist performs data collection and management of HPC and BMT date reporting. Responsibilities include the performance of highly technical and complex cellular and immunotherapeutic procedures which include but not limited to: cell separation, cryopreservation, quantification and characterization of products for bone marrow transplant and other immunotherapeutic procedures for clinical use

Responsibilities*
1. Collect and report data for on-going process monitoring.
2. Process HPC, Apheresis, HPC, Marrow and other cellular products by various methods.
3. Perform tests using SOP involving multiple methodologies.
4. Perform specialized techniques such as, T cell depletion, CD34 selection and other new technologies as they arise.
5. Perform cellular therapy product counts and report results to appropriate individuals.
6. Prepares cellular therapy products for cryopreservation and storage in liquid nitrogen.
7. Thaw cryopreserved products and assists with the re-infusion.
8. Set up OR for HPC, Marrow harvest, assist as scrub tech during the harvest and prepare HPC, Marrow bags with proper labeling.
9. Receive, inspect, sort and check in samples.
10. Detect, trouble shoot and correct equipment, reagent and system failures.
11. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment.
12. Perform preventative quality control and quality assurance duties.
13. Participate in continuous improvement activities.
14. Maintain a database of components that can be discarded or used for research purposes.
15. Follows institution safety procedures.
16. Participate in annual continuing education and competencies.
17. Participates in the introduction and evaluation of new procedures, supplies and equipment.
18. Orient and train new technologists, students, and residents, etc. as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.
Skills
Demonstrated ability to independently organize and prioritize work.
Working Conditions
1. Works with infectious disease and/or hazardous materials.
2. Exposure to noise from laboratory equipment and pneumatic tube system.
3. Exposure to liquid nitrogen.
4. Walking, standing, and bending frequently required
Desired Qualifications*
Work Schedule
This part time, 24 hours position is on the evening shift, and will include rotating holidays and weekends with other staff.
Modes of Work

$3000.00 Sign-on bonus available.

Required Qualifications*

- Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Technology or other biological degrees with relevant classes and labs.

- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems and take appropriate action.
