The University of Virginia's (UVA) Faculty and Employee Assistance Program (FEAP) is growing and has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead. Guided by Employee Assistance Program (EAP) principles, clinical ethics, and institutional priorities, the Clinical Lead provides program support under the leadership of the Director.

Reporting to the Director of the Faculty Employee Assistance Program (FEAP), the Clinical Lead plays a vital role within the FEAP team. The Clinical Lead facilitates the development and implementation of innovative care models and provides guidance and leadership to a team of Employee Assistance Consultants. Additionally, the Clinical Lead acts as a subject matter expert in employee assistance services and is responsible for delivering EAP core services. These include on-call duties, managerial consultations, meetings with assigned clients, and critical incident support.

Responsibilities include:

Supervision (25%):
  • Supervises a team of FEAP consultants and provides consultation to adhere to best practice s in direct client service delivery, compliance with university and FEAP policies and procedures, and support of FEAP consultants
  • Sets goals and objectives with EACs to foster professional growth and development
  • C ollaborat es with the Director to ensure comprehensive training for the EACs
  • Monitors performance, offers coach ing, and conducts performance reviews. R ecommend ations may include hiring, firing, promotion s , , and other performance-related decisions
  • Available during and occasionally outside of regular work hours for case consultation with EACs and program oversight.
Clinical Services (50%) :
  • Provides direct services to employees, family members and the UVA organization
  • Conducts a ssessment s , brief intervention s , and referral s ; establish es community linkages and manages case s
  • Offers e xpert consultation and training to organization al leadership to support employees needing assistance , aiming to enhance the work place and improv e job performance
  • Responds to c ritical i ncident s
  • Collaborates in develop ing and delivering program s to raise awareness of behavioral health and wellness education activities
  • Assumes o n-call responsibilities
  • Provides training and development services to EAP accounts
  • Adheres to clinical and ethical guidelines set by the Employee Assistance Pro fessionals Association (EAPA) and relevant professional licensing or disciplinary standards .
EAP Admin istration (25%) :
  • In consultation with the Director, e stablishes standards for documentation , implements quality control , and t rains new team members on documentation requirements and database use. Provides feedback to the Director on compliance, learning needs , and documentation quality to support measurement of results
  • Performs account management for assigned EAP accounts
  • E nsures optimal staff utilization to provide best practice access to FEAP services , working closely with the Administrative Lead on scheduling
  • Identifies , recommends and implements improve ment to services
  • Contributes expertise to the development and measurement of emerging care and consultative models such as the E xtended model, Facilitated Management Referrals (FMR) , integration of Hoos Well/Virgin Pulse resources and other wellbeing platforms
  • Along with the Director, coordinates FEAP 's response to emergent situations, serving as the backup to other Clinical Lead and in the absence support of EAC for CCC
  • Responds to external requests on behalf of the Director as assigned
  • O ther duties may be assigned as appropriate .
Anticipated Hiring Range: The anticipated hiring range for this role is $93,000 - $111,000 . Final compensation will be based on the candidate's relevant years of experience and overall qualifications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master's Degree in Mental Health or related field.
Experience: Five years relevant clinical experience including at least two years EAP or program management experience. Supervisory experience is highly preferred.
Licensure: Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) Certification; or licensed to practice as a Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist or CNS in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
