Description

In conjunction with a Clinical Learning Coordinator, assist in the coordination and setup of the Simulation Center for the College of Nursing (CON), clinical placements, clinical affiliations, student and faculty clinical readiness across the College of Nursing at the University of Houston.
  1. Provides assistance with coordination of the Simulation Centers including maintenance, scheduling, inventory management and training of faculty, adjunct and staff.
  2. Assists in the implementation of Simulation Centers nursing laboratories for the use of nursing undergraduate and graduate student programs, including equipment, procurement, organization and training.
  3. Assists faculty with development and integration of new tools and teaching methods used in the simulation center nursing laboratory.
  4. May work with the Clinical Facilitator to initiate and update clinical agreements between the university and clinical agencies.
  5. Assist Track Directors and lead faculty with the clinical placement of BSN, MSN, and APRN students.
  6. Provides assistance with tracking and maintenance of student readiness for clinical placement.
  7. Assist in the coordination of appreciation documentation to undergraduate preceptors and coordinators.
  8. Participates in the orientation of new students to policies regarding clinical readiness and placement.
  9. May train new students in using clinical reporting tools.
  10. Assist in the maintenance of databases used to track student performance and compliance. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 3 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience. BSN in Nursing, Registered Nurse, unencumbered Texas license
