Position Summary:

City of Hope is seeking versatile and dedicated Clinical Nurses to join our Float Pool department, specializing in cancer treatment. As a Float Pool Specialist, you will be an essential asset to our team, providing skilled care across various inpatient units, including (but not limited to) Critical Care, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Hematology, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Observation, and the Evaluation Treatment Center. Your adaptability and commitment to delivering exceptional care will make a significant impact on our patients' cancer journeys. Our team is growing and we will have o pportunities for part-time and full-time, day and night shifts, and for 12-hour shifts. These positions are also eligible for a unit differential up to $5.50/hr, shift differential (as applicable) up to $6.50/hr, and weekend differential up to $15.60/hr.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Have flexibility to move between different inpatient units, ensuring that all patients receive top-quality care in line with City of Hope's high standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in various clinical settings, offering your expertise in cancer treatment and nursing care.
  • Administer a wide range of treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, BMT, and specialized Hematology procedures, adapting to each unit's specific needs.
  • Monitor patients closely, assess their conditions, and provide timely interventions and support as required.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies, tailoring information to individual needs.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation to ensure seamless continuity of care between units.




Your qualifications should include:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in nursing is required
  • Current California RN license
  • For CN III - A minimum of three (3) years related experience, preferred background in oncology nursing
  • For CN II - One (1) - two (2) years related experience or after successful completion of role of CN I (typically for 12 months).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting
