Responsibilities
Position Summary:
In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of care providers, provides comprehensive nutrition care to patients with liver, kidney or heart disease, specifically transplant recipients, potential recipients and/or donor candidates as appropriate. Assesses nutritional status of patients and recommends nutritional regimens according to individual patient requirements. Conducts ongoing evaluation of nutritional status of patients to ensure adequacy and appropriateness of the nutrition regimen. Provides ongoing education on medical nutrition therapy to patients, families, and other caregivers.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $58,760 - $76,398 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of care providers, provides comprehensive nutrition care to patients with liver, kidney or heart disease, specifically transplant recipients, potential recipients and/or donor candidates as appropriate. Assesses nutritional status of patients and recommends nutritional regimens according to individual patient requirements. Conducts ongoing evaluation of nutritional status of patients to ensure adequacy and appropriateness of the nutrition regimen. Provides ongoing education on medical nutrition therapy to patients, families, and other caregivers.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in unit-based, disease-specific and interdisciplinary rounds and listing committee and acts as a consultant/resource to all members of the health care team.
- Participates in weekly nutrition support rounds.
- Serves as liaison/ambassador between patients/units and exercises independent judgment and displays advanced decision making.
- Evaluates literature, new products, and techniques; develops standards/protocols to ensure consistent, appropriate, evidence-based therapies.
- Perform initial assessment and follow-up on all patients receiving parenteral (TPN) or enteral (tube fed) nutrition as inpatients on the liver transplant service.
- These aspects of nutritional status and care are documented in the patient medical record at least every ten days.
- Participates in quality assurance activities.
- Serves on committees for department and hospital initiatives.
- Represents the department at community nutrition functions.
- Attend regular department staff meetings as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Foods and Nutrition Service or equivalent, completion of one-year dietetic internship experience or equivalent required.
- Master's Degree in related field preferred.
- 2 years of clinical nutrition experience in a health care setting required.
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
- Advanced certification, CNSC, CDCES, CSP or other specialist certification in specific area of practice required within 18 months of hire required.
