The Clinical Outcomes Manager is a Registered Nurse with a Masters degree in Nursing. The competencies are clinical leadership, care environment management, and clinical outcomes management. The Clinical Outcomes Manager uses these competencies at the unit level to influence care delivery processes. The Clinical Outcomes Manager works with healthcare team members and leaders to coordinate care and manage resources with a focus on quality, patient safety, and outcomes. The Clinical Outcomes Manager partners with patients, staff and providers, as a subject matter expert, to improve outcomes and support service excellence.

Education:

Master's Degree

Experience:

Two years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.

Licenses and Certifications:

Georgia Registered Nurse License or Multistate Nursing License

Healthcare Provider (CPR)

Supervision:

Responsible for directing collaborating coordinating services provided by employees directly engaged in the provision of patient care to promote improved outcomes. No direct reports.

Qualifications:

Masters in Nursing required. Masters in Business Administration or Healthcare Management may be considered with 5 or more years' of direct nurse management experience in lieu of MSN.

Masters in Nursing (MSN) or Masters of Science in Nursing(MS) from an accredited school or university.

Two years' experience in acute health care setting including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff, and problem solving or unit or organizational issues.

Ability to identify improvement in clinical operations and implement change and willingness to challenge established way of doing things in a constructive way.

Ability to lead, mentor and develop staff. Exemplifies a strong, positive attitude toward internal and external customers and continuous service excellence and improvement.

Excellent conflict resolution skills. Well-developed diplomatic, tact and listening skills.

Adept at using technology as a tool to support real-time education at the point of care.

Uses quality improvement methodologies to evaluate failures and patient safety practices. Skilled at delegation, oversight and evaluation of care given.

Experience with Core Measures, programs related to Hospital Acquired Conditions, Wound and Ostomy care, and Value Based Purchasing desired but not required.
