Job Summary

The Clinical PACS Administrator will provide PACS support and training to Medical Imaging staff, radiologists, CAMC physicians, and various CAMC support staff. Additionally, they will act as a PACS liaison between the Medical Imaging Department and the IT Department

Responsibilities

• Functions under the direction of the Imaging Technology Manager and the Associate Administrator of Medical Imaging. • Display a positive attitude under all circumstances. • Organizational skills that enable the individual to react and perform under stress and emergency situations on an on-going basis. • Collaborate with the Imaging Technology Manager and members of the Radiology IT Team to provide an effective PACS support model to users throughout CAMC. Submits written recommendations to the Imaging Technology Manager. • Excellent communication is required to keep all parties up to date on the current and future status of the PACS system. The free flow of communication with radiologists, Imaging managers, department leaders, and Radiology IT is key to being a successful PACS Administrator. • Resource person for 3D post-processing system(s). • Under supervision, performs troubleshooting activities, investigates fixes, implement fixes and workarounds to ensure a high-level of performance to the system, and to improve customer satisfaction. • Promptly responds to PACS user requests for support throughout CAMC. • Defines, conducts, recommends, and assists in end-user training requirements. Provides PACS training information and is a PACS resource for: o Medical Imaging staff o Radiologists o CAMC providers and their office and support staff o Nursing staff • Specific Radiologist support: o Participates in the training of radiologists and is an ongoing resource for the radiologists regarding PACS and PowerScribe. o Under supervision, gathers and uses all available resources in assisting the radiologists. o Proactively and regularly performs rounding with CAMC radiologists to provide in-person and remote support. Take suggestions and requests from the radiologists to the Imaging Technology Manager and the Radiology IT team. • With input from the Imaging Technology Manager, participate in ongoing education and training to stay at the forefront of PACS technology, and new and future imaging exams and modalities. Methods of education may include seminars, vendor training, certification programs, etc. • Gathers and analyzes end-user requirements through interviews or survey forms. Reports findings to the Imaging Technology Manager. • Recommends resolution options of key issues to the Imaging Technology Manager. • Downtime situations: Effectively and efficiently participates in guiding the Imaging Services team members through system downtimes in keeping with the preset departmental downtime procedures. Identifies methods for improving the downtime process and reducing impact on operational safety and efficiency. Submits written recommendations to the Imaging Technology Manager. • Common daily tasks: o Merge MRNs in PACS o Corrects PACS anomalies. o Sharing of images. o Review various worklists to ensure exams are interpreted, images are shared, and that various workflows are completed. o Support the QC on the Radiologist workstation monitors. • Assists and supports Imaging Quality Technologists with their workflow for corrections. • Image sharing: o Participates hands-on in the image sharing workflow as required. o Image sharing issue investigations. o Train staff from multiple areas on image sharing workflows. • Other various tasks that support the Medical Imaging Department

• Amer Registry of Rad Techs (Required) Needs to have been a technologist for 3 years minimum. Preferably CT or MRI experience. PACS experience preferredNeeds to have been a technologist for 3 years minimum. Preferably CT or MRI experience. PACS experience preferred
