We have a great opportunity for a Licensed Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical support to ourDirect Care and Treatment division. If you have a passion forpsychiatric pharmacy, this position may be a great fit for you!

Job Duties:
  • Provide consultative pharmaceutical care services to DCT patients and/or inmates in Minnesota County Jails.
  • Clinical consultations for DCT and County Jail staff regarding but not limited to drug formularies, Involuntary Medication Orders (IMOs), medication reviews, documentation of medication administration, etc.
  • Serve as a consultant to medical and nursing staff to provide the most current information regarding drug therapies.
  • Provide education to students, residents, staff, community partners, and patients/inmates on pharmaceutical topics
  • Ensure that the Jail facility staff know the expectations and follow the processes for properly dispensing medications, meeting all legal and accreditation/certification requirements, and complying with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards for the facility.
  • Network with community pharmacies and medical service providers to help County Jail staff develop working relationships with and/or contracts for services needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Minnesota
  • Two years of experience as a fulltime clinical pharmacist or completion of a (PGY1) 12-monthPostgraduate Pharmacy Residency*

*Note:Candidates currently in a 12-monthPostgraduate Pharmacy Residency Program (PGY1 & PGY 2)may apply and areeligible for a contingent offerbased on successful completion of a PGY1 or PGY 2 program

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing pharmacy services for individuals with mental illness, chemical dependency, and related or co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Experience participating in multidisciplinary rounds and working on interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience providing patient education.
  • Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist (BCPP)
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
  • Eligible to sit for an appropriate pharmacy specialist exam.
  • Completion of a PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Psychiatric Pharmacy.
  • Proficient at documentation, project development, and/or precepting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
