Shift : As needed

The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Waterman - 1000 WATERMAN WAY, Tavares, FL

The role you'll contribute: Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders.

The value you'll bring to the team:

• Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in:

• Standard work parameters

• Operational programs

• Dispensing and compounding systems

• Hospital computer systems

• Medication ordering systems

• Maintains operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services provided by

• Central Pharmacy

• IV Room

AND MAY REQUIRE (at least two of the following):

• Oncology Pharmacy Satellite

• Operating Room Satellite

• CVICU Pharmacy Satellite

• Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems

• Accurately interprets electronic records

• Maintains expertise in Cerner processes

• Manages proper and complete patient profile record

• Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and dispensing of patient - specific medication doses

• Manages medication dispensing activities

• Ensures accuracy of all medication products prepared for dispensing

• Oversees oral and injectable product compounding

• Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking product

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

REQUIRED:

• Applicable State Pharmacy License

• One year of Contemporary hospital pharmacy experience

• Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or other advanced pharmacy degree

• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem - solving, and customer service skills

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes as necessary

• Works under minimal supervision, while using independent judgement

• Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and support personnel

• Ability to analyze data and follow up and resolve discrepancies

• Ability to keep accurate and complete records

• Ability to teach, precept, and facilitate experiential training

• Initiative to keep abreast of developments in the provision of pharmacy services

• Initiative to keep abreast of new information/products/developments in the field of pharmacy

• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Performs other duties as assigned
