Full-time clinical pharmacist position dedicated to providing clinical and operational pharmacy services for Hematology/Oncology (Hem/Onc). This positon is for the day shift with up to one out of every fourth weekend rotation, to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for Hem/Onc patients to optimize safe, efficacious and cost-effective drug therapy. The position will rotate through various operational oncology
Qualifications: Pharmacy licensure in the state of Texas and a B.S. Pharm or Pharm. D. degree o Pharmacy Preceptor license in the state of Texas o Epic experience; Preferred: Additional experience in Hematology/Oncology, Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy or eligibility to test. Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Hematology/Oncology; or equivalent experience ( PGY1 plus 2 additional years of experience; or 5 years of experience, in health-system pharmacyshifts .

Expectations:
- Reviews antineoplastic and supportive care orders for completeness and accuracy
- Conducts timely and accurate medication order verification for Hem/Onc patients
- Verifies patient-supplied medications
- Performs pharmacy consults for assigned patients, as directed by shift responsibilities
- Oversees medication distribution to ensure safe, effective, and timely medication dispensing
- Participates in EPIC Beacon protocol development, validation and maintenance
- Improves Hem/Onc services through active participation in quality and safety initiatives, Oncology Pharmacy Group meetings, Hematology/Oncology P&T Subcommittee, Oncology Leadership Huddle, and P&T Committee meetings as directed by Oncology Lead Pharmacist
- Actively participates in pharmacy intern and residency training programs
- Advances oncology pharmacy services through research, education of healthcare professionals, and professional organizational involvement
- This position will provide supervision of technicians for both sterile and non-sterile hazardous compounding
