SUMMARY

The Clinical Pharmacist works in the patient care areas. Competent in reviewing and evaluating of medication orders for appropriate pharmacotherapy in the following age groups of patients: Neonatal, Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric. Demonstrate the ability to communicate with nursing staff and physicians to resolve and prevent drug-related problems. Clinical pharmacists play a vital role on the healthcare team by collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive safe, effective, and appropriate medication treatment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy degree plus 1-year post-Phar.D. experience
  • ASHP accredited Residency in pharmacy practice or Doctor of Pharmacy degree at least 5 years of post-Phar.D. experience in job-related pharmacy practice, or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy at least 6 years experience in job-related pharmacy practice at GHS
  • Fully licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia or, eligible for full licensure within 120 days through reciprocity or exam
