Job Description:
This position serves as the Clinical Research Coordinator II for the Perioperative Cognitive Anesthesia Network
(PeCAN) Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Program and other assigned studies. Responsible for
day-to-day management of research projects, assisting with grant submissions, managing large datasets in
a clinical research environment, statistical analyses with supervision, and coordinating data acquisition in a
clinical environment using digital technology.

Duties Include:

Facilitate research project operations and day-to-day management of research projects for the
Perioperative Cognitive Anesthesia Network (PeCAN) Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders
Program and other assigned studies.
- Supporting PIs in the development and growth of the research cores currently consisting of biomarker,
neuroimaging, clinical cognitive, and data science.
- Building and maintaining professional working relationships across different disciplines within UF Health.
- Implementing procedures and plans to meet the goals of the Program and assigned studies.
- Scheduling and facilitating project meetings.
- Communicating with Department and University faculty and staff and team members, sponsors, and other
external constituencies including service delivery professionals.
- Compliance management including maintaining IRB and protocol compliance, storing of regulatory
documentation and study records according to protocol.
- Documenting adverse events and providing information to appropriate Principal Investigators (PI)
- Maintaining the PeCAN research handbook outlining research engagement guidelines, available
resources, and database access.
- Managing digital and hard copy clock collection in the pre-surgical setting; problem solving digital clock
pens and files issues.
- Digitally scoring preoperative digital metrics affiliated with grant funded investigations.
- Coordinating junior faculty and fellow trainees who are engaged in PeCAN related research, including
meeting coordination, overseeing research productivity, and funding needs, assisting with completion of
IRB required documents, and participant recruitment process.
- Ensuring personnel at study sites understand and comply with standard operation procedures (SOPs) as
outlined by PIs.

Responsible for coordinating database development and data maintenance through REDCap, as well
as access to large existing perioperative neuroimaging, neuropsychology, and biomarker databases. This
includes:
- Managing extremely large databases (one with N>16,000) and supporting other junior PIs building similar
databases as part of the PeCAN pilot program.
- Overseeing the collection of data from multiple sites.
- Compiling and organizing data for data integration and analyses.
- Running basic statistical analyses with a biostatistician guidance.
- Coordinating with Data Analyst within the Department of Anesthesiology for the data repository and
hospital/medical records related data associated with grant related projects.
- Preparing reports, summaries, and protocols.
- Supporting PIs in the documentation of multi-center studies.

Grant Administration:
- Managing pre and post award budget in collaboration with PIs.
- Serving as a credible resource regarding IRB regulatory processes.
- Supporting staff and junior PIs with writing IRB regulatory documents and consent forms.
- Assisting PIs and junior researchers with study design and execution in collaboration with PeCAN
statisticians.
- Collaborating with staff and PIs to problem solve as issues arise to ensure successful study completions.
- Assisting in grant writing and journal application submissions for PeCAN collaborated grants.
- Assisting PIs and junior faculty with writing and editing posters and articles for publications in peer
reviewed journals and conferences.

Any other duties, as needed, to fulfill the mission and to abide by the values of the College of Medicine.
-Serving as a custodian over financial compensation distribution to research participants.
Create promotional material for study and clinic.

Expected Salary:

$48,000 - $50,112

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Applicant must have experience with cognitive testing in a fast paced preoperative environment.
Knowledge of digital technology for cognitive testing is needed.
Applicant must help write grants to study cognitive decline in older adults. Must be proficient in SPSS and/or
SAS for statistical analyses.
Applicant must understand the importance of cognitive decline in older adults as it relates to the rising issue
of public health and be able to create promotional material about this rising issue to relay to the public and
relevant medical professionals.
Applicant is ideally bilingual to extend research reach to diverse patient groups.
